Southfields Road

Konishi Gaffney were commissioned to look at this end-of-terrace Edwardian house which had been split into two flats with an external staircase access to the 1st floor. Our proposal was to build a new house in the left over land (used for parking) and to change the existing flats into a generous 4 bedroom house.

The new house on the triangular plot was arranged with an open plan kitchen, living & dining space on the ground floor and two bedrooms and a bathroom on the 1st floor.

The existing terraced houses have a pattern of plaster reveals, cills and lintels around the windows including bay windows. Our design picked up on this pattern with a modern angled reveal into the windows continuing the pattern of the street.

Planning was granted in November 2015 and then we passed on the project to our friends and local architects A-Zero, who did the detail design and construction phases, completing in June 2017.
