Above Scotland

In July 2012, we won a competition to design an exhibition of aerial photography at the Lighthouse in Glasgow, featuring photographs curated by Architecture + Design Scotland from the RCAHMS collection. Our concept was to display the photos from the same "looking down" perspective in which they were taken, creating a map room feel to encourage close examination.

The exhibition includes 25 custom-made steel tables, each with a lamp featuring a built-in magnifying lens for detailed viewing of the high-resolution images, creating an atmospheric space with minimal lighting. The tables, designed for accessibility and efficient storage, are lightweight, robust, and intended for reuse, contributing to a lower carbon footprint.
