The competition brief was for a terrace of three highly energy efficient eco houses. Our main approach was to orient the houses to the South, to build airtight houses and to create a small sun room space that could be closed off to be allowed to overheat in summer and to be too cold in winter. We also had an urban design response to a site next to the village green - orienting the gables of the houses to provide visual interest into this corner.
